Nutrition for Growth Summit - N4G Paris
N4G Paris presents a landmark moment for global leaders to embrace a new vision for nutrition and sustainable development. On the agenda, a scientific conference co-organized by INRAE and a "Village of Solutions for Nutrition" with the presence of INRAE.

Problems of malnutrition - undernutrition, nutritional deficiencies, overweight and obesity - are growing worse worldwide. France is responding to this major problem by continuing its efforts, through its international strategy on food security, nutrition and sustainable agriculture (2019-2024) and through concrete actions, to improve nutrition for vulnerable populations. These include food aid; the Muskoka Initiative on Maternal, Newborn and Child Health; and efforts by the French Development Agency in the health, agriculture, water, hygiene and sanitation sectors.
Launched in 2013 in London, the Nutrition for Growth Summit is hosted by the country hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games, to raise funds and political commitments to tackle malnutrition in all its forms.
The Paris N4G Summit aims to:
- Elevate nutrition in the global development agenda.
- Mobilize and catalyse interest from the international community.
- Create continuity in the N4G processes and the commitments for good nutrition.
- Maintain a high level of political and financial engagement to nutrition.

The world’s population is growing and with it the need for agricultural and food resources, as well as the impact on the environment. To meet these challenges, research is taking action and developing concrete solutions with its partners, in particular to facilitate the adoption of diets that are both healthy and sustainable.

Fermentation relies on the activity of micro-organisms that prevent the development of harmful bacteria but also transform the raw food material, endowing it with new sensory and nutritional properties. Healthy, sustainable and with untapped potential, fermented foods could well occupy a place of choice in tomorrow’s diet, particularly as people in western countries turn increasingly toward plant-based food choices.
