Head Office

INRAE, the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment, is a major player in research and innovation and the result of the merger between INRA and IRSTEA on January 1, 2020. INRAE ​​brings together a community of 11,500 people, with just over 200 research units and around forty experimental units located in 18 centres across France.

The institute is positioned among the world leaders in agricultural and food sciences, in plant and animal sciences, and ranks 11th in the world in ecology and environment. INRAE ​​aims to be a key player in the transitions necessary to meet the major global challenges.

Faced with an increase in population, climate change, depletion of resources and declining biodiversity, INRAE is building solutions for multi-performance farming, quality food and sustainable management of resources and ecosystems.
