Innovating for sustainable food

On the occasion of the World Food Day, which marks the 75th anniversary of the FAO, three INRAE researchers explain on video their collaboration with the FAO for more sustainable agriculture and food.

> Allison Loconto, Deputy Director, Interdisciplinary Laboratory for Science, Innovation and Society (LISIS), works on the governance of transitions towards sustainable food systems. 

 

> Nathalie Volkof, Head of the Diversity, Genomes and Insect-Microorganism Interactions Unit (DGIMI), conducts research on innovative solutions, such as biocontrol, to fight the fall armyworm, a crop pest, and to better manage the risk which it represents for global agriculture.  

 

> Veronique Bellon-Maurel, Deputy Head of the MatNum research division, conducts research on digital agriculture with the objective of developing responsible digital technology to produce better and to enable farmers to earn more from their activities.

International scientific collaboration: an agreement between Science New Zealand – federating eight research institutes - and INRAE

PRESS RELEASE - On 30 June 2020, John Morgan, president of Science New Zealand and Philippe Mauguin, Chair and CEO of INRAE signed a 6-year agreement to enhance joint projects, scientific exchange and talent development. The agreement sets out to meet the growing need for international scientific cooperation in a world confronted with global challenges such as climate change.
